New Moda Fabrics
Well, winter is almost over and it is time to start thinking about Christmas Projects! We have lots of lovely Christmas fabric ranges in stock. Check out Moda Peace on Earth – one of my favourites, at the moment! It has a lovely jelly roll available and the most gorgeous paisley and continuous border fabric – the fabric is so lovely I am having trouble cutting it up! I think I will design a very simple quilt for this one, keeping the fabric as a feature.
Also in Moda is a range called Winter. It also features a Jelly Roll and a slighty funkier design with poinsettias and spots. The colours are very clear and a little bit retro – but not too much!
Christmas Thoughts
Some new Christmas patterns are also available with a Christmas Patched Runner, Christmas stockings and a Bon Bon cushion (pic). These patterns are great for using up your Christmas scraps and quick enough to make for a lovely gift. Also available as Christmas kits.
Soon a set of tree skirts will be available. I am working on the mid size one at the moment, but I am planning a mini and maxi skirt as well. No naked feet on trees this year!
More new things in the patchwork cottage
The flannels have sold really well this winter but a new range called Springtime from Nancy Halvorsen has just arrived. This is in the same patterns as Winsome but with clearer pastel colours and is proving very popular. It is lovely on the back of a pretty floral quilt for just an extra bit of warmth.
Another gorgeous and summer/ spring inspired range is Portugal from Moda. This has lovely warm colours with a big floral in two colours and coordinating paisley. Super on bags but proving lovely in quilts as well.
Also look up a new pattern called Splashy Style Quilt. It is super quick to make but very effective. The pattern features the amazing Kaffe Fasset fabrics in vibrant peacock colours but it would also be stunning in Shabby Chic fabrics and pretty florals. The pattern includes two sizes for single and queen bed.
I hope this gives you all some inspiration and ideas for Christmas – I am going back to finish the tree skirts!
Happy Sewing
Jenelle
